After the impressive year 2009, where Nordic hedgefunds delivered striking returns with the The Nordic Hedge Fund Index advancing more than 14 pct., 2010 started in a more humble way with the NHX posting a 0.29* pct advance.
Looking geographically on the Nordic countries in January - all countries posted positive returns except Finland.
Swedish hedgefunds were the best performing hedgefunds in January advancing 0.37 pct. Best Swedish hedgefunds in January were Gladiator Fond and Radar with an 7.22 pct and 7.00 pct advance respectively. Worst performing fund was Consepio which dropped 6.96 pct.
Danish hedgefunds rose 0.34 pct in January. Hedgeforeningen Mermaid Nordic and Danske Hedge European Equity were the best performing funds advancing 4.89 and 4.12 pct respectively. Worst performing fund was Alpha 15 Fund declining 5.37 pct.
Norwegian hedgefunds rose 0.06 pct with Taiga Fund being the best performing fund advancing 3.52 pct. Worst performing fund was FMG-Bio Med Hedge declining 7.80 pct.
Finnish hedgefunds declined 0.02 pct in January. Altos Advantage did however advance 3 pct during the month being the best Finnish fund.
