Nordea Nordic Equity Hedge decreased 0.14 pct in February

3/12/2010 2:42:39 AM - Nordic News

Nordea Nordic Equity Hedge Fund decreased 0.14 pct in February.

- During the month of February Nordic equity markets showed a slightly negative development. Oslo was down by 3,7 pct and Stockholm by 0,7 pct while Copenhagen and Helsinki was rather flat, all in local currencies. Continued concerns about sovereign risk issues in southern Europe negatively influenced European stock markets. The US Fed increased the discount rate which added to the dollar strength, despite statements from the Fed that rate will be low for an extended period of time. The Reserve Bank of Australia increased rates by another 25 basis points to 4,0 pct in the beginning of March while Bank of England kept rates but is extending the quantitative easing. Consumer confidence in the US dipped unexpectedly sharp and concerns were raised about end demand, writes Nordea Nordic Equity Hedge.

Nordea Nordic Equity Hedge Fund rose 9.70 pct in 2009.
